[quick thread jack] I don't know about the WORST. I drove an '02 or '03...seemed on par with a Chevy Aveo. I wouldn't want to own either, nor get in a crash in them, but for the $$$, what do you expect? I saw an '05 Accent, a few options, new on the lot for $11k or so, before any type of discounts. Dunno what one might want for that scratch.
My sister's '02 Elantra and my '04 RL...two different machines w/ two different purposes, but the actual internal build quality of the Elantra, IMHO, is better than my RL. And the Ion and Elantra are in the same class. I've driven hers a good bit. Never a rattle (unlike my squeaker), feels put together well, the switchgear feels almost Japanese. She has 70,000 miles on it, one visit for peeling paint on the side mirror. I have 11,000 miles, and have started throwing CELs

And for '06? Have you seen/sat in a Sonata or Tucson? I went car shopping with my dad a few weeks back. The V6 Sonata w/ leather is amazingly well built. Near Toyota. I'd pick it over the Camry any day. Same w/ the Tucson vs. RAV-4. Hyundai has its shit together.
