I never had any problem breaking the tires loose in 2nd gear, sometimes in 3rd gear if I had the right combination of RPMS and actual speed as I shifted into gear. I would recommend removing the spark plugs and inspecting them, maybe cleaning them a little, they may be a little fouled with the extra fuel running through them. Let us know how things go.

No offense, but I'm pretty familiar with how the car runs at this point. I also know the textbook reasons that we shouldn't be able to... It never slammed me into the seat in 3rd gear at 50mph... and spun tires.
