Like spooner you can make a 100 octane tune so when the car senses the fuel its balls to the wall power. Then if he was creative a 87 tune that keeps boost from rising over say 10 and get excellent milage out of it. So a few hours before track day a tank of 100 and the car will adapt to that table and your off.
What's hit or miss tuning? Intense is dong some pretty good professional tuning right now, consdering the ability to do so has only existed for about 4 weeks now. I'd love to take you for a ride in my car with the race tune on it...

Get out of my head!!!! The 87 Octane tune starts tonight actually!

It's hard to set it up so the car 'senses' the octane. It does have two spark maps, but the low octane is like backup system, in case you get bad gas or whatnot. However, I've not tested how it would adapt to just tossing 94 in the car with the 100 octane tune. It SHOULD drop to the low map, but as you can imagnie, I'm hesitant to try. The 45 seconds it takes to reflash is acceptable to me.
