Yes, in Europe there is a 240 hp AWD model. EDIT: I had been told that there was a 240 hp WD model, apparantly this was untrue; I can only find info re a 200 hp FWD (still, that's be nice). Maybe it was a different Opel model that was referred to, and the cource gave the Astra name in error. Whatever - the Delta platform will support AWD, GM has th drivetrains to make it happen now, and the LNF would be a nice fit... Sell it for about what a WRX goes for with a few more ponies, and undercut the cheaper Evo with close tot he same power... Well, if they do, AWESOME, if they don't, we can always build it ourselves, lol.
Funny thing - I was annoyed that they didn't put the 3rd (and 4th, lol) doors on teh coup. Everyone I talked to hs taid the same thing. A comment was made to one of the PD guys at SEMA, and he was SHOCKED - "Seriously?! We didn't think it was a big deal, nobody in teh focus groups asked for it". When it was said that it might not have been requested because it may have been considered a given that it would be there, and that everyone we know who has seen teh 2d coor has commented on teh lack and that it was a major selling point, he got this seriously worried deer-in-the-headlights look, like seriously "oh shit", it was hilarious. He said it wouldn't be hard to add in upcoming model years, though, so we'll see...
