I'll clarify #3 for you, since you so eloquently answered the rest.
Slapping on a smaller pulley spins the blower faster. While this also builds more boost faster, you're also exponentially adding heat. IMHO, I think anything below a 2.8 is just creating heat and waste, without a proper methanol injection system.
Switching to this bigger blower will have two incentives:
1) Moving more air requires less work. You can use less boost, and therefore less heat, for the same power levels. If nothing else, this is just better for your engine.
2) This particular blower is more efficient than our stocker. Even if they were both 1L/rev blowers, the TVS would do so with more efficiency. Thus, moving to a larger, more efficient blower is just a win/win situation.
