We'll see as few as 40 (rare) and as many as 150 (less rare, not common). Usually 100-120. Dunno why this one had such low turnout.
Night solo has it's downsides. Working the course in 110+ degree weather with a UV index of 12 (yes all you east coast types, it goes to 15 here) has more downsides. Folks - in the summer around here, SPF 30 isn't sunBLOCK, it's tanning lotion. Some of you will think that was sarcasm-based humor. It wasn't. If you want sunBLOCK, you can pick up SPF 50 and even 70. I didn't know they made anything over 50 until I lived here, lol. Anyway - night racing ahs downsides, but generally they get it lit okay. On this course, the dark spots happened to be in bad places (as if there are good ones LOL) or at least ones that seemed worse than most.
Assuming my car doesn't come back from service worse than it went in -for once - I'll compete in Utah this weekend and see how I stack up in a more croweded event, with some really good drivers whom I know on a surface aI know in daylight. We can hope...
