Sirius Radio

Thinking of getting a Sirius radio. Does anyone here know an easy way to run the antenna and best place to put the receiver?

what year is your car? The 06's have an XM antenna built into the On* antenna, you just have to tap into it

In my old car, I san the chord along the lower side of the vehichle, along the edge of the carpet, and up to the side of the rear seat and placed the antenna on the rear 'shelf'. It worked great.

2005 ION Redline. I thought that the antenna had to be outside the car? If it works inside that would be great!

Well, as long as it has a view from the sky, it shoyuld be fine. The metal in the roof will screw it up, that's why it's better to put it under the glass. I had both my XM and GPS reciever in that same plcae and thet worked great. I still have the GPS reciever, but I am selling my XM, becase the car has it built in

(if anyones intresested, it's the Delphi MyFi personal one, with home kit, car mount kit and car kit for great sound, and 3 external antenas (one for home, one for car, one for personal use if the internal antenna is indoors) plus the internal antennas. it also records up to 5 hours of digital music. I have it in the box too!)

What I did, is run my antenna under the rear seats, into the trunk, and put the magnet antenna at the back of the trunk. The trunk seals around the wire just fine. I'll put up a pic if you really need one.

I forget what it is... it was like $70 or so... square-ish, 6 buttons along the bottom, red-orange screen...

I just installed mine. I ran it to the trunk then up over the seal then into the weather stripping to ontop of the rear window and used the included antenna cover to position is exactly where i wanted it on the roof...works...PERFECT...with the new alpine h/u and subs!

That's exactly what I did. I wanted it on the roof in the middle. Looks much better there to me in my opinion.

I ran my xm antenna around the moulding on the back window took out the taillight assembly and used the hole where the taillight harness went followed the harness to my carpet stuffed it under the plastic by the passenger doors to my dash where the xm reciever is.I mounted my antenna on the outside where the stock xm would be located and never had a problem the magnet on this thing never moves thru countless car washes.
