Subwoofer Enclosure

Even though I would like to think I know everything about car audio, I dont. In my RL I have two 1000 watt 12" subwoofers supplied by a 2000 watt amp. I currently have them in a sealed enclosure, just like this. I was wondering what the difference is between that and something like this. I was going to buy one like that but I was not sure if the bass would be the same, greater, or less. So if anyone could tell me what the difference is between my sealed enclosure and the bandpass enclosure and which one is better to have I would be most grateful, because my theroy is you can never have to much bass.

This is how I did mine. The bass is more responsive with this port design.

Bandpass is definitely louder, but it sounds artificial. Sealed boxes are very tight and accurate. If you listen to rock, country, jazz, club, house, etc... stick w/ a sealed box.

If you want the kinda boom that'll have your neighbors slitting your tires at night... go w/ the bandpass.

I have a single 10 in a bandpass in my truck and it sounds great. Its all in how you adjust your amp. Heres a pic of when it was in my saturn.

Can't go wrong with a sealed box. Nice low deep clear bass and very responsive. On the other hand if you want a band pass, better for a hatch back. Go with the sealed.
