stock radio

what's up all. quick questions.

is it possible to hook up a small amp into to stock radio? I just have the normal radio (not the 300watt one). I know the for subs u have those RCA cables that plug into the back of the radio. I'm not sure if the smaller amps that are used for regular speakers need that or do they just plug into the regular wires and then the speakers hook up to the amp?

also would it be possible to get a picture of what the back of the stock radio looks like?

thanks

first off there are no rca inputs on the back of your radio. So you can not use RCA inputs to hook up an amp.

You can however get an amp that has speaker level inputs and use the rear speaker inputs for the signal. Then your speakers would hook into the amp for signal. You can also buy a converter that converts your speaker signal to RCA outputs.

I have three tens in my trunk running off of the rear speaker inputs. It works just fine and adds a whole lot of thumb the high end audio system is completely missing.

You can also get a line level converter that will convert speaker inputs to RCAs. Thats what I ran in my old cars, worked great.

I also tapped into the rear speakers to hook up my amp with a line out to RCA converter. Also, being that the battery is in the trunk running the power was easy. The only wire I had to run to the front of the car was the remote. Just tapped into the fusebox. I have the high end stereo and now with the two 10's it sounds pretty decent.

I didn't want to.

LOL.... I have a tool, you can actually get it at an auto store for a few dollars, that allows you to probe any whire. You clip one end to ground (or a positive lead) and probe any wire. If it lights its positive (or if you have the wire connected to a positive lead the wire would be probing for a ground.) Great little tool to have. Costs about 3 dollars.

How bout a multimeter? I think you could probably even pick one up for 10 bucks or less. A must for any electrical undertakings.
