Audio Help

So I have a 4 channel 400w Polk Momo amp running a set of coaxials in the back and a set of seperates up front. I just grabbed a 10" JL and I am going to bridge 2 channels on the amp for the sub and use the other 2 channels to run my 2 sets. Would wiring one way be better than another? What is going to be the best way to wire these?

What's the voice coil configuration of your sub? Impeadence?
If it's a 4 ohm sub (single 4ohm VC, or dual 2ohm wired in series), you would just use the + pos. of channel 3, and the - neg. , from channel 4 to the sub. Personally I would use channels 1 & 2 for the fronts, and just use the deck power for the rears.

If it's a dual 4 ohm sub, you would just use channel 3 to one VC, and 4 to the other, but it won't get full power, and that amp isn't 1ohm stable so you can't bridge into 2ohms. It would be best to get an additional class D sub amp that is 2 ohm stable. Then you could bridge the 4 channel to the fronts!

I can tell you right now matt that you are not going to get the best sound out of that amp if you use it for 6 different channels. You should just get a small 400watt 2 channel amp for that sub. Then your shit will sound bomb diggity.

I'll hwlp you hook that up if you want me to. I used to install stuff at Audio Excellence. I thought I told you that?

Except I like a monoblock better for subs, more efficient.

Very true, although his amp is just a small 4 channel. (its a nice amp though) just IMO not powerful enough to power the sub and the 4 co-ax. I wired my amp to have a mono output from a stereo signal. It sounds really good. I have been asking him for a while now to let me get in there and mess with his system.

I am not looking for a lot of bump in my trunk. Just a little bass to compliment what I have already. Thought about adding an additional amp but I just want to spend that money elsewhere right now.

It is a single voice coil and I believe it is 4 ohm.
