I haven't looked at any of the 06' cobalts. But the sub that was in the 05's was pretty weak and not worth whatever the option price was (think it was over 1000 for it though). I never paid for the AAS in my redline but i definetly wouldn't have ordered it with the car, not worth the money at all for either.

I will have to definetly agree with that. I have not heard the Coblat system, but the Redline Advanced system is not worth the money. It really doesnt sound that great. I sounds about as load and clear as the stock system in my 2000 Chevrolet Venture WB van. Although having the componants in the door already does save a bit of hassle for changing them out later on, wich is what I plan on doing.

My audio quality test is simple. If play it loud on a trip of 3 hours or more and I want to turn it down or off before I get there, it sucks. No factory system I've ever had (including Bose and JBL) has ever passed. My Silverado got there for only about $250 and a good days labor. The Ion is proving more difficult.

Adding 2 10's powered by an RF amp and adding some Infinity tweeters to the stock radio/system did the job for me

Sounds amazing!

For a stock advanced audio system, the ss/sc sounds very nice. The bass is very adequate giving you that punch without drowing out the rest of the system. Granted my 2 Image Dynamics I had in my truck demolished this setup, it still remains one of the top factory systems I have heard. I would assume it sounds better than the redline factory speakers because my buddy's 04 sounded like sh*t. Sorry Alpha.

Hey thats why I replaced it. But i had no sub with my advanced audio unlike you cobalier punk.

I have Infinity Kappa 62.5i's all around with a Rockford Fostgate Power Stage 1 10" dual 4ohm sub (had 2 but took 1 out due to weight concerns) and I have yet to EVER hear a system that sounds better than mine.
