I just got a heavy duty laptop hard drive with some mounts. Been testing for a few days now with no ill effects. Time will tell.

Right now I just have a netgear card in the system so I need an access point to tap off of. Once I have some cash I will get a verizon card so I can have internet anywhere.

just be careful where you mount like i said, hard drives don't like burst impact of any sort

It's really not that expensive or hard so it seems. As long as you know what you're doing hooking things up and getting them in safe places, I'm surprised I haven't seen this done before with all the computer guys we have on this board. Nice job man, can't wait to see the finished pics of it in the dash with everything sanded/painted.
