Installed my Sub

Curious as to what everyone's thoughts are on facing a sub box towards the front of the car as opposed to the rear. I installed mine facing forward. Sounds good and I don't get any trunk rattle this way. Opinions/thoughts???

i think thats the way to go. most face it backwards so they can show-off when they open their trunk, but it sounds better facing the seats and if you want you can flip down the seats and see them bump.

I have it installed on the 60 part of the 60/40 split so I can drop the seat and both subs are visible (2 x 10" subs). Sounds good that way.

The reason people put them fireing backwards is because of cancellation due to reflected sound waves. If you get enough output to keep you pleased with them fireing foreward, and less annoying rattles, then go ahead with it like that if you're happy. If you desire higher output, the closer you move the subs to the rear body panel, the less chance of cancellation will be obtained. Usually, in a front fireing subwoofer system, you would want to completely seal off the box from the rear trunk area, that includes isolating the rear deck speakers from any pressure built up in the trunk from the subs.

Pretty cool. But it doesn't look like it leaves you with much extra trunk space.
