What do you guys suggest?

A buddy of mine just gave me two 12" Alpine Type R subs with a box. I don't know ANYTHING about audio. I have AAS on my 04' right now, will this make the install easier? I don't want to spend too much money, but what amp do u guys recomend I buy to power my subs? Which wires do I have to tap into off of the AAS amp? Any input would be helpful. Thanks guys!

What is the impeadence of the subs, are they dual voice coil, and do toy know the model # ? Most likely they are 4 ohm subs, and if you wire them paralell (both + and - leads wired together on both subs to the amp) then if the subs are 4 ohm, together in paralell it will present a 2 ohm load to the amp. The best amp for subs is a class D monoblock, most are 2 ohm stable, and are efficient, so they won't put a big drain on your cars electrical system. I like Mitek (Xtant, MTX, Coustic) amps, they are competition sound quality, very durable, and they under-rate the power output (kinda like the redline HP), so you get more power for the $. The best place to get mitek stuff IMO is Stereo Direct. They are an authorized dealer, and they sell at wholesale prices, so you can get a good amp for le$$. Thier # is 800-452-4773

Didn't you see my write up??

http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/...l-factory.html

It'll be the same thing (if you're using the stock deck), except that you will tap into the pink (remote) wire on the factory amp (in the trunk) instead of how I had to run a wire to the passenger side footwell

But anyways...it's simple....hook up a LOC to the rear speakers & run RCA cables to the amp......your battery is in the trunk so running the power wire isn't hard....then just ground it to the floor (or the battery--your choice).....run the remote wire to the factory amp & that's it

If you need/want the Crutchfield Master Sheet, PM me your email address & I can send it to you (for removing the back deck panel)

If you need help, I wouldn't mind helping you since you're in Ann Arbor
