Radio Question

Does anyone know if a head unit out of an 06+ will fit in a 04? If so I assume the Cobalt and the ION would be compatible? I have the advanced sound on mine, don't think that will be a problem though. I want a MP3 jack and just like the feel of the new head unit.

Or does anyone know how to hook up a MP3 jack to an 04? Thanks guys.

The '06 head unit WILL NOT fit.

Different mounting bolt pattern.

Crap, well thought it was a good idea at the time.

Does the 06 do anything special? Like driver information or somthing to that nature?

How about hooking up a aux jack to the 04? Anyone do that yet?

No nothing like that....it's just a normal factory radio that's a double din size instead of the single & a half DIN size that you have. It displays the info of the song/station that is playing (if available) though...but no driver info or anything like that.

You gotta realize that the center console is totally different in the '06-07 RL's......they have a different bezel design, radio, and cup holders.

Their might be an interface available.....I dunno for sure. But if you got an aftermarket radio, they have cables for that reason that attach to the HU for a clean signal without any wiring hassle.
