Nope & it even says that when you put in what car you have ('04 Ion)

'04-05 RL's have the 1.5 DIN sized radio

'06-07 RL's have the double DIN sized radio

says it doesn't fit

But you can make anything fit I'm sure...just fabrication. Come on, look at the computer screen that was put in the one RL...

Crutchfield is good but it has said that alot of stuff wouldn't fit in my previous cars and I had no problem installing them. I really don't feel like fabricating stereo stuff for my RL so I guess its gonna be a flip out dvd.

My 04 has a double din. I put this radio in my car http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wkC6CY9...isplay=Kenwood and the site said it wouldn't fit. I've seen this one mounted in a 05 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wkC6CY9...isplay=Kenwood

The only thing I had to do to mount it was use the brackets off the stock radio. No mounting kit needed at all. I'm willing to put money on that Pioneer fitting your car.

I'll give it a whack when I have a little more money, I work in an electronics store so if it doesn't fit returning it won't be a problem.

That will most certainly fit without a problem. Crutchfield is full of shit. All Ions/Cobalts/G5s/G6s, etc. are DD radios.

I stand corrected....everywhere I've read said that '04-05 have the 1.5 DIN sized Radio....and I know for sure that the '06-07 have the Double DIN radio

But Keyser_Soze got that radio to fit in his '05 & it looks sweet!:

Just takes a little customization

Its actually pretty easy. The computer is the first time I have every tried customizing anything of the sort. With the bezel, I have never even touched bondo or done any body work before so I was clueless. So if you really want that system, dont worrry about the fit, that is the easy part.

I have the thing primed and ready for paint tomorrow, but to give you an idea of what it looks like.
