Car PC Finished!

So i finally finished the dash on this. took a long time and allot of patience, especially since this was my first attempt at any sort of custom work. I included pics of the install as well as some of the add ons I have gone with since I posted.

I got an OBDII connection with some scanning software. this lets me see anything going on in the car with error codes, data logging, comparison charts, data capture, digital gauges, and my 2 favorites; 1/4 timer (that includes 1/8 time with trap speed, 1/4 time with trap speed, and 0-60 timer), and an on board dyno (which I have yet to try out).

I added a GPS antenna and currently only have MS streets, soon to be copilot live. I only have a reg wifi card, soon to upgrade to a verizon card so I can get internet anywhere. I added a volume control knob and a new usb hug in the center console.

Still have a few things to accomplish, but the system is pretty much done. Yeah me!

the keyboard is currently under the seat, and I have an onscreen touch keyboard. Maybe someone can help me though. I got a tiny keyboard that I want to mount flush against the dash in front of the cup holders.

I am going to drill a hole to fit the cable down, but I want to keep it clean, so I am looking for some sort of spring loaded/release reel. I know they make large ones for garage applications, lights, hoses ect, but i dont know wwhere to find a small one. I tried everything made for a laptop, but those dont work correctly.

any thoughts?

thats pretty sweet... my thoughts on the keyboard... I would put it underneath the steering wheel in that little cubby hole. put it on a sliding keyboard stand so you can slide it in and out when needed, maybe something like this http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/st...&cmArea=SEARCH Edit: they have better ones than this that i think will work better, but this is the basic idea. I couldnt find any pics of what i really had in mind
well good luck and nice job again.

Well the wireless keyboard is pretty big and bulky. I was thinking about going that direction next. I like the idea of have an ultra slim keyboard. I was going to put the keyboard under the steering wheel, but i alread have the sub control under there and I also wanted to give everyone in the car access to it without bothering me while i am driving.

Technically i really do not even need the keyboard, just makes it ewasier when surfing the net or typing in an address.
