Audio Question

I looked at a lot of posts here and my question is......

I am new to audio stuff and I have recently bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/KENWOOD-KSC-WD25...QQcmdZViewItem I wanted some bump, so I wired into the rear speakers and it sounds pretty decent, not too loud but perfect to where I want to be.

My question is would it make a difference to buy some brand name (polk, booston acoustics, focal) for the 4 6.5's and 2 tweeters being powered by the amp in the car? BTW I have an 07 redline with the AAS.

My thought was this.....I was going to buy a set of Boston 6.5 componets and a set of Boston 6.5 2 ways to replace all of the speakers, will I be able to notice the difference or is it really not worth it?

Guys I really have no idea what I am doing either so be patient.

Yes, omg yes! If you have the money, speakers like Boston's are the way to go. There are some other high end speakers out there, but Boston tends to be my favorite. You'll be better of going around the AAS, but hook them up to the factory amp and see how they sound first.

I was thinking these for the back... http://cgi.ebay.com/Boston-Acoustics...QQcmdZViewItem

and these for the front... http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSTON-ACOUSTICS...QQcmdZViewItem

These will work correct? Also, would I be better off hooking up the powered sub inline to the rears or get one of those inline RCA converters off the rear speakers? Will it make a difference?

One last question, if you look at the link for the subwoofer on the remote, there is phase 0 or 180 degree, freq of 50, 80, 100, 150, what does this all mean? There is also a level knob, but that is obvious. What should I set the other 2 at?

I would just tap into the rear speakers if I were you. Either way isn't going to sound top notch. It will sound fine and you won't notice anything really. I am very picky about doing things top notch though. Your best bet is to connect it to the rear of the cd player in the sub or line out RCAs. If your running a stock HU, then you really dont have any options so I would tap into the rears.

that is exactly what I did so I am good on that.....now what does all the phase, frequency stuff mean....50, 80, 100, and 150 what is the difference and also the difference with the 0 or 180 degree stuff?

out of phase means when one speaker is pushing out,t he other is pulling in = bad

You want them to work in phase. It jsut means you have one speaker wired backwards

Yes the superior quality of Focal/Boston... will be much better than stock. 1 thing to keep in mind is that the stockers are a 2 ohm speaker, so if you replace them with a 4 ohm driver, then you will only get 1/2 as much power out of the weak AA amp. You would be much better off getting a higher power amp to push at least the front component set, and use the deck power for the rear fill.

Not necessarily. It could be due to a combination of differences in distance from the driver to the ear and crossover types and orders.

The unit I have is a single 10" sub, so the 0 and 180 degree thing wouldn't really hurt it then....? How about the frequency, what difference would there be between the 50, 80, 100, or 150 frequency setting?

Does the subwoofer hit harder in 180 or 0 degree or does it not make a difference?

It doesn't make a difference, it is just a timing thing.

The other frequencies are probably what your crossover cuts off at. I'd start at the lowest setting and play with it until you're happy with the way it sounds.
