Exclamation non AAS to AAS question/help!!!

Ok, I read through all the threads here and couldn't find an answer to my question exactly. I have a 2007 IonQC with the basic audio package. I want to upgrade it to the AAS package using OEM components. I can order the sail panels and tweeters no problem and wire those in fairly easily. My questions is for the sub and amp. Once I buy the sub and amp (which is located where in trunk?) do I need any new wire harness for them? Is the stock radio harness set up to have the sub and amp alreayd so I just have to run the lines back or what??? I pretty much just need some directions for putting the AAS system in a base audio, not aftermarket setup. Thanks.

Any particular reason you want to use the AAS stuff, as opposed to aftermarket replacements?

I'm mainly concerned with using OEM amp and sub because they don't waste so much space compared to aftermarket and should be real easy to mount. That and I don't want to deal with adapters and what not.

I think the 'work' is going to be about the same either way. With the AAS, everything runs to the back dash. All speaker outputs from the radio, and then back to the front/rear dash. So you're still gonna have to rewire all 6 speakers and find the harness that the stock AAS amp uses, and 'make' the connector.

...and there's no sub.

We don't have a sub stock in the AAS system, the cobalts do, but honestly, it's really not worth the time let alone money, even if you got the whole system for free. You would be WAAAAAAY BETTER OFF going with even an entry level aftermarket system, as long as you have 1/2 decent amp, it will easily blow the aas away!

Plus isn't the AAS amp hiding? So you'd have to tear apart something just to install the amp the way it came from the factory.

Not really... it's just clipped under the rear deck.

Between the rear deck and the frame? Like where the speakers are?

Hiding an amp up there would probably be effective, though...

Hmmm....

Oh. Thats not nearly as cool.

I still agree that an aftermarket system is a better idea, though.
