I wonder if the OEM Cobalt sub would fit in the Ion trunk?

I think I remember a few guys that did that, maybe try a search, you might get lucky and find something about it. Personally, I think you could probably do much better as far as quality for less $ by going aftermarket.

Woah woah woah dave! My boxes are:

1) not that big
2) not that cheezy

You sound like you have one of "those" boxes shown.

DOES NOT fit on the driver's side like the sub does in the Cobalt. The trunk is shaped differently. This has been discussed numerous times

Ebristol is still using one of them though. He removed the spare tire & put it in the wheel well instead, lol:

whats the point in that? The Cobalt Pioneer sub is absolute junk. For less money you might as well go to one of the fell markets and get a cheepie sub in a box. It would probably sound better. I guess if it was free, but even then I think I would sell it to a Cobalt guy and get something better.

Hey it's not my setup....it's ebristol's

He bought it with the intentions of it fitting where it goes in the Cobalt (behind the driver's side rear wheel well), but it didn't fit.

It's sort of clever (reminds me of the RSX Bose setup), but I do agree that you could probably spend money on a way nicer setup
