Question How do I know if I have the AAS system?

I just got this car so please excuse the n00b questions haha, its an 06 with single disc, I was looking at the speakers today and there is an amp under the rear decklid, and its a 6 speaker... whats the difference anyway?

You have aas nonAAS come with only four speakers and no amp... someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

Yeah the aas will have tweeters in the interior sail panel on the front doors, and an amp in the trunk under the rear shelf where the back speakers are mounted. If you don't have it, don't worry just rip out the whole system and go aftermarket. If you do have it, rip out the whole system and go aftermarket. I had it,didn't like it, and it was the 1st thing to get upgraded for me

thats weird, cause most higher end factory systems are pretty decent but mine seems to distort mid and low level bass...maybe its my song quality but they're from itunes? like its *loud* but not super loud, or clear. Can I just replace all 4 6.5" speakers?

yup you can... personally? if youre gona buy speakers, nothing... and i mean NOTHING beats Bose.

interesting. also, how do i turn on the XM? the "cat(egory)" button on the radio says "XM feature" when pressed but I cant actually access it, and i need a system ID to set up service

depends what kind of system you want. i know people who swear their lives that bose isnt the best. yeah its great, OVERPRICED, but not the best. ive been given demos b4 comparing some other high end stud 2 bose and knocks bose right off the chart
