Installing an alarm...

YOURSELF...How many of you have accomplished this feat? Better yet on your IRL? I've done most everything you can do audio/video wise w/systems but this tiny box w/these harnesses is by far the most intimidating to me...

Got the viper 771XV 2-way security and remote start set-up/paging etc etc...its been sitting here for about 5 months now b/c I dont wanna pay $250+ for install(I hate paying labor fees for things I might be able to do!).

Anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram, Im thinking im gonna jump in head first on this one...

alarms are a pain in the dick i fiddled with the same one in an xterra ended up just taking it in. Getting it professionally done with warranty on work = worth 250 to me

If you have access to the info from directwire/directed its not all that difficult, I installed my very first alarm in about 3 hours. That included remote start and running wires for keyless entry on my old car, then added the actuators for the door locks a few weeks later.
I work on computers all day, and have a pretty good understanding of electrical principals so I guess it might come off as easy for me but if you possess some of these skills it shouldn't be that difficult, just be careful and double check your work as you go. User a multimeter NOT a probe.
