rear center console

well does anyone know if its removable with out takin the seats out i have a few plans id like to make for a sub box that would go there im still in the planning stage. Tomarra ill take some pictures and get a better idea of what im gunna do.

So my idea is instead of putting subs in the trunk im going to get 1 or 2 8inch subs prolly dd1508s and glassing a box in the console between the seats in that console.

That's not a good place for a speaker, especially an 8". It will pull the sound stage back from the front, and make it impossible to get good imaging, and present all kinds of phasing issues. Plus a woofer will suffer from cancellation bigtime in the center, best place for a woofer is in a corner, that way it's impossible to loose output from cancellation due to reflected sound waves. The frequency response from a typical 8" is mostly in the midbass range, and would work best in the front doors, then you can mount the midrange drivers in kickpanels to get a more equal pathlength to avoid phasing problems. You should make a kustom amp rack there, that would be sweet.

hmm good points

im not all about ripping into the door panels so maybe ill modify the rear deck to fit larger speakers. Also whats the inside of the rear doors lookin like is there room in there for speakers?

.... but to answer the question... yes it comes out, and really easy too. Just one little tab to pop out in the center....

ok instead of the console in the middle maybe ill throw a screen there instead. But for subs im thinking two 8inch somethings glassed into the rear sails that on the deck. Getting rid of the 2 speakers in the deck and adding a modest sub stage in those sails and a very nice front stage should be pimp cant wait to get a free weekend to start glassing.!!
