If you wait a month or 2 (pending the 17 month merger is finally finished) part of the mergers terms are that XM and Sirius set-ups must be able to get the "merged" signal as well as allowing for 3rd party receivers to be built.

zah? wait for what i have a subscription for sirius already i just dont like the quality sound i get from the fm modulator on my sirius tuner. I plan on getting a new headunit down the line is that what your suggesting?

I have never had a problem with the sirius antennas that come with tuner boxes its all about location. Ive found that 8 inchs from the rear window right in the middle is the best place. trunk lids are dooky and inside for sure is no good.

Your signal may get better when the merger comes out and you'll be able to get recievers and antennas made by Sony, Samsung, etc. is what I was saying in so many words.

From what I understand you only have to install the unit that changes it to a sirius receiver. The channel names will still show up as XM names but they'll be sirius channels.
