Question about quality of subs

Yesterday my cousin and I traded some stuff and one of the things I wanted was these two twelve inch concept subs. Are concepts even any good? They sound pretty decent, but I still havn't tuned them up right yet with my amp. I'll take a picture of them and post them later.

seriosly 12 inches is way too big!!!! there is no reason to have that size of subs in your car ever.

Okay, thats not what I asked. I asked if concept subs were of any quality. My cousin has one ten that hits harder than anything i've ever felt. I understand that whole deal. I'm just asking if they are worth anything. bump.

Any speaker that can play, can be concidered good quality because a loudspeakers job is to make noise. Unfortunately that playing does not translate into long term reliability, or abuseability of the component until it is too late. There are only a few handfuls of car subs that are of high quality. Most are mediocre chinese overstamps. Even major name brands are notoroius for this. And they are hediously inefficient devices that require more power than neccessary.

You will know the difference right away betwen a high quality sub, and a medioce one. Unfortunaltly most people have never herd a high quality sub system (not to be confused with expensive), which is tuned properly and truly designed for the acoustoc environment of an automobile. This is good because they do not really have a point of reference.

I guess the bottom line is if you like them, Good on ya. It's what you think that matters, not the "quality" of the sub. So don't sweat it, if you like it and you feel its worth what you paid, they you are ahead of 90% of the peeps out there!

I still stick my my orignal theme of "Loud is easy, accurate is not".
