I love that commercial with the people waiting in line for 5 hours for the new iphone and the 2 guys with Samsung Galaxies 3 touch phones to exchange playlists. "When do you think we will get that touchy thing?" I laugh...
They seem to convey a good message with those commercials. Apple had one showing panaromic pics on the new iphone. My brother has a galaxy s ii and it does it. Nothing new. You are behind the game. I have friends that are fan boys and say my gs iii phone is too big and, I quote, "iphones are the perfect size." They then saw the iphone 5 and tell me how much better the iphone is with the larger screen.
I then proceed to ask them what their favorite widget is on the iphone.

while i dont agree with their business practices, and i dont think they deserve how much more hype they get then their competitors, who have just as good of if not better products, apple does make really really nice stuff

I know. I do appreciate what he is doing. I have wanted to do the same thing with a pc for hpt and other things but, again, I listen to radio and would want streaming audio. I could hotspot but I am on sprint and don't want to spend extra on it

the radio thing is simple. almost all android and smartphone like devices have a radio app for them as long as u have something in the audio jack it acts like and antennae and bam got all your radio stations.

I have plans to do something like this as well. I am going to user a Galaxy tab 2 (7 inch) and a raspberry pi to hold and play all of my media. I also have the blue tooth obd2 scanner that syncs to the tablet.
I am planning on making mine more permanent though. Good to see it works well!
Rules the courtroom? Apple drives me crazy. They come out with something that has been out for years, re label it their own, imply they are the first and best product, and then sell products that are outdated when they come out, charge a premium, lock the software for you to be able to do only what they want you to be able to do, charge a premium for their nonstandard (compared to other products) cables, cords, ..., sue people who make/made their parts, And still, somehow, they have loyal fan boys who drink their koolaid and think they are completely original and far superior to anything out there. Did miss something?

Way to jump on the hater bandwagon. I used to thing apple was an overpriced waste, until I started using them for music production. Then I realized EVERYTHING is smoother and easier. Heck I run 3d modeling software in VM and its still faster than on my pc with similar specs.

I know a guy that uses mac for is music production. He says at first it was because it was far superior but now it is because that is where all his investment is. All his old tracks are on there, his software, and stuff like that. He said if he was to restart, he would do a pc because that is what he uses all the time outside of work and it does the same thing.

I've always wanted to do a carputer setup but it looks like I will be going the easier route and just buy a Galaxy Tab or the like with my mobile service and using it for gps, music and the like
