I still can't believe you got 245 hoosiers onto a stock rim
I read it and had to ? it.. sorry

I have the Re-01R's 225/45/17 I really like them but I've never had slicks yet so I don't have that comparison. ppl out here really like the Kuhmo 710's
I think that will be the one if I go past the Re-01R's

Well, I figured I've squeezed 225/45 hoosiers on a 6" wheel, in theory a 245/40 would actually be a tiny but easier (20mm more tire on 25.4mm more wheel, roughly the same height sidewall). And that's about it - a tiny bit easier. Tight, yes, but actually not as hard as you'd think. Not hard, in fact, just not easy.

The V710 is awesome, but not available in sizes that it should be. The A4's and A5's got murdered by the Kumho, but everyone I've talked to that has a direct comparo says the A6 is the better tire. Can't go wrong either way, though!

The RE01R's are sweet. The Neova seems to be right there with it, but are WAAAAY overpriced. I've driven them, and hard (autocross), on a car that I've driven many times on 615's - the Neova is a better tire. But for teh cash between the 4 - well, the Dunlop Star Spec is less $ than the Bridgestone and the Neova and is just as good if not better according to what I've read and heard, and costs only a bit more than the 615 (still the budget winner). The RS2's (Hankook) are great, but I've heard from more than one source that grip disappears fast after 50% wear. The new Kumho in this class is as yet an unknown quantity - we'll have to see...

My 235/40's rubbed very slightly under full compression w/ cut bump stops, but once it 'moved' a little bit of fender liner plastic it doesn't rub anymore!
