That is a sweet looking track man! Were you the only LSJ there? How did you do overall?

There was one Redline outside the gates but they never raced. I tried finding the owner but no one knew who's car it was.

I thought I did really good. I was able to keep pass with most 2wd vehicles on the track. Here are some things learned:

1. STIs are boss! Since it was my first event they recommended I ride along with another drive before my group to learn the track. Lucky for me I got a ride with a guy who drove an STI. He didn't mention his specific mods but he said he thinks is engine was around 360hp. I couldn't believe the way the car handled. The straight away acceleration was great once the turbo spooled but it ripped around the corners with ease.

2. Evos should stick to the dynojet and 1/4 mile tracks. Out of the 28 cars in the afternoon session there were probably 8 evos. Mostly 8s but a couple of 7s. The STIs put those cars to shame. The STI I rode in and a built turbo BMW were the fastest cars on the track. I was very surprised with the gap between the STIs and the EVOs.

3. Everyone runs competition tires. Beside myself and maybe 3 other cars everyone had track specific tires. I am adding them to my check list.

4. A FMIC is a must. My IAT2 temps were between 140 and 150 degrees the entire time. I always had more then enough power coming out of corners but on the two straight always my engine felt a little weak through the higher RPMS. I also need to find the "How To" that will allow me to run the intercooler pump and fan while the car is off. And with 45 minuets between runs my car did not have enough time to cool down.

5. SRT-4s handle like crap. I ran into a guy with a Stage 3 SRT-4. He said he put down 380whp on his last dyno run. Im positive I could have kept up with him on the track if he was in my group. He would roar in and out of corners but never seemed to find the proper line. When he would the car would slip off and he would have to break to get it back on track. I know he had a front strut bar but he also needed drive mod 2.0.

Over all I thought I did really good. I have to take my hat off to TTR and their rear sway bar. I never felt the back end get light or feel loose. Wether I could get traction or not I always felt like all 4 wheels where making contact with the track. I thought my car handled great. My breaks never let me down and 2nd gear is my new best friend.

My tires were another story. I was running the stock lops and I thought they did an ok job. But I set my expectations low. I tried a bunch of different driving technics to get a good fell for my car. Surprisingly the fastest technic was driving hard! No matter what I tried my car responded well.

I really think this is something that everyone needs to try once. I can not explain how much fun I had.

Glad you have fun man. Wish I could have been there. I don't even know what road was open that direction. Furthermore, all the tracks around here are under water, so you're lucky that one wasn't.

Anywho, what you saw with Evos and STIs is NOT the norm. In the NSSCC, the exact opposite is usually true. The Scoobies are usually annoyed that they cannot keep up with the Evos.

What I do see a bit of with both the Evos and the SRTs is that they good with a turbo that is drag-oriented, like you said, that causes too much lag for them to properly come out of the corners, which often leads them into the wall unexpectedly, because when it does come on late, it is unexpected.

Still racing there on the 22nd, right?

It seemed like the EVOs were much slower around the corners then the STIs. This STI I rode in glided around the track like Michelle Kwam. It was really unbelievable. So smooth and so quick.

Idk.

The SRT guy was sort of a tool. He went off the track and hit the fense on the first corner of the May 4th event.

The 22nd is in Marshfield. I already have plans that weekend. The next time they are back as USAInternational is August 17th.

Good stuff. I love track days.

Almost every track day I go to there is an STI and a M3 that are crazy fast. They are awesome track cars.
