What's available for cooling mods now ?
Where talking about lower deg thermostat and fan switch ?

I just bought this HE from ebay.

How many runs are you going to get? How much time between runs?

Here is a nice little trick for additional cooling in the summer.

And there is a tread around here someone that desicribes how to run the car's fans without it running.... At my last event my car was hot! I wish I had a way to cool it down between runs.

Do me this one favor. If or when somebody ask you what kind of car you're driving?, tell them, "It's a Saturn Ion". Then snap a picture of their face with you cell phone camera. It's f'ing priceless.
LOL and there is almost none in the region. I think there is 3 for a population of 1 million. No wonder people ignore they exist. I never saw an ad on TV either.

Is this HE better than a Cobra ?

yeah I absolutely need to run the fans to cool the car down.
I need it on 100% of the time. I want to run 185F and no more.
That should give me more room for timing and power on pump gas.

what about this one?

Yeah. Its larger and its a dual pass. So the hot coolant will get hit with cool air twice.

all good advice especially the cooling mods, option B for sure, run 4 psi higher rear pressures than front 36 front is good advice so 40 psi rear, it helps rotation forget the tower brace it does diddly squat the towers are so close to the firewall and welded it doesnt need the help. Rear sway bar is big, gains a solid second ifyou are like me and use a hollow chrome moly bar 1.25 inch 1/8 wall, along with Cobalt FLCA and a stiffer inner bushing if you can if not dont worry about it. Falkens are great work better with 19's (sorry typ0, 18's if you can get those wheels....also drop it, eibach sportlines seem well respected i just chopped a coil of the ss/sc cobalt springs...good luck what track you running at? I run Mosport/Mt. tremblant...

you need option B for sure, and dont go off track the rocks are hard and tear up your car....rear sway bar will really help...not sure about the solid ones sold by the vendors i dont have any experience with them if it (the rear bar) is too stiff the car will rotate too much and not put the power down...good luck - rotate the tires or be prepared to buy a new left front...

Lancer, you are going to shannonville? Wha day..I assume the day has passed since this thread hasn't seen action since july 2nd. Shannonvill is only 2.5 hours from Ottawa, you should come up for an autocross day. We basically have the same car, minus the LSD. Would be nice to hang out with another RL. G85/comp pack tranny is my next mod. . .

Double post. . .but, I have the progress rear bar, only a 22mm solid. . .I love the thing. . last year before it was installed I was constantly running 1.5 seconds behind a completely doneup mits lancer, sway bar put me a consistent .75 seconds ahead of him . . .basically a 2 second gain on a 65-70 second track. . .
