Going road racing in a Redline stage II, what do I need ?

What do you recommend I get for my Ion Redline stage II comp pack ?

I was thinking

-1.5 camber in front if I can with the stock knuckles.
Will they hold up, so much talk about them being weak ?
-Stiff motor mounts, the engine rocks very much with the stock mounts
-Falken RT-615

What about brake pads ? which are the best for Road Race and daily driving ?
Hawk HPS, ceramic, stockers ??

For the suspension I'd rather keep it stock for now.

Anything else I'm forgetting ?

Cooling mods. FMIC if possible.

Oh ya, forgot about that, I'm going to upgrade the heat exchanger for sure.
What's available for cooling mods now ?
Where talking about lower deg thermostat and fan switch ?

I say scratch the Falken's and buy set of Kuhmo skins from Mike Kramer and throw those on another set of rims.

Stock pads work great on the track.

What are you going to be doing? HPDE / PDX, Open track days, Time trials.

open track day, I suppose like time trials.

AS for the tires, my stock tires are done right. I need tires for daily driving.
Also it might rain that day, I need a versatile tire. It will also be my 1st time on a road race track.

You are right. The Falken's are a good choice.

-The stock power-train, suspension, and brakes are more than enough to handle the abuse.

-A front strut tower brace and a rear sway bar help shave off time.

-The RT-615 tires have an amazing amount of grip for a street tire, but watch out toward the 10th lap or so, My friend who runs them, said they tend to heat up and get greasy. I my-self ran Nitto Nt-01 r-comps and I swear by them.

-Don't forget to check the tire pressure. I ran my tires on 36psi (cold). After the first session it should be at about 42psi (hot).

-Put Water Wetter in your cooling system.

-Here's a great cooling tip and it's free. Turn your heater on full blast and point the vents out the open windows. I did this on a road course in the desert when it was 99 degrees. The temp gauge never went past half way all day.

Good info, thanks
I know the heater trick.
I'm in Canada so the heat should be reasonable. It rarely gets much over 85F here, average is 75F with a lot of humidity.
I won't be doing many laps in a row.

I didn't mention it at first (now edited) but I have the competition package with the quaiffe, it should help give a good show to the modded SRT-4s.

Once I go to a few events I'll want to upgrade to a more serious tire like the one you mentioned.

The Quaife LSD will definitely help on the track, especially on a high hp front drive car. You should give those
SRT-4 guys a run for their money.

Do me this one favor. If or when somebody ask you what kind of car you're driving?, tell them, "It's a Saturn Ion". Then snap a picture of their face with you cell phone camera. It's f'ing priceless.
