Thumbs up Have Fun!

It sounds like you're going to have a blast! Just make sure that you don't push yourself too hard on the first to laps (it's fun to not use the brakes, but a little harsh on the tires) and remember to check your oil and tire pressure regularly.

In the recent "questionable" Car and Driver Article, it's actually recommended to go higher (at least for the Auto-cross). I think that you'll find that your tire pressure will jump from about 32psi to around 36-42 psi once you've gone around the track a few times. I hope this helps and Good Luck!

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1
"Adjust Tire Pressures
Manufacturer-recommended tire pressures are specified with good ride quality in mind, so there's usually some performance gain by simply adding air.

The SRT4's recommended pressures are 35 psi front and rear. Dodge engineers told us that the best tire pressures for autocrossing the SRT4 are 39 front and 36 rear. After we made that change, the SRT4's best time through the autocross improved from 40.81 seconds to 40.35.

We might have gone even faster by experimenting with different pressure settings. A good rule of thumb is to change the tire pressures one axle at a time in steps of 2 psi. Keep a record of the changes and their effect on time and how the car felt. Through initial trial and error and then some educated changes, you'll be able to dial in your car for quicker times.

I should point out, in case anyone dosen't know, that this is a road course, not a small course. I know alot of people do autox in a big parking lot, or things like that.

All I can suggest is that you mark your side walls with shoe polish or something. After a few lap check it out. If the tires arent rolling over onto the sidewall your ok.

My pressures that I use for my auto-x worked good on the road course as well. I would suggest a higher pressure up front to start and go from there. I will be running my first event on my Dunlops this weekend and we can compare our results.

I would love to drive down to blackhawk farms someday. Maybe next year.

Any suggestions for tools, or odd little things like that. I just realized the need for a GOOD tire pressure gauge finally.

tire pressure gauge, Air tank (tracks like that usually have air available though), tourque wrench, turkey baster in case you need to remove a little brake fluid or coolant, windex, a jack just in case , channel locks are handy and Gatoraid . Thats all I can think of right now
