SCCA Solo 2 Class Changes

Not sure when this is effective, but according to the lastest issue of Sportscar, the Redline, Cobalt SS, and SRT4 are being moved from D-Stock to G-Stock for SCCA sanctioned Autocross events. In addition, it looks like alot of former GS cars are being moved to HS.

Sometimes ya just wonder what makes people do things. Give this as true, the Cobalt ss/sc & Ion Red Line will be in the same class as the 02 sunfire GT w/2.2 ECOtec and all '03-'05 Cavalier/Sunfires with the 2.2 ECOtec engines (GS). Who thinks that something is not even there? And really, is the Celica GT a faster car to get bumped UP to D Stock while we get Bumped down to G Stock? I. for one, would really like to hear SCCA's reasoning on all of this.

from what I understand from the guy's that I autox with, it'll be for next year.

It's not for sure going to happen next year. It's open for member comment.

Wow that is a very surprising move. I am happy to see the Mini Cooper S leave G-Stock. That is a totaly rip off.

Anyway it won't affect me because I run in STS with my SW2, and probly will never autocross the Redline when it arrives.

Then how are you going to enjoy the engineering that GM put into the car? It begs to be autox'ed and curses at you for drag racing it.

Why in gods name not? I was running with people on race rubber with years of experience my first time out!
