First Race this Saturday

Hey All,

Well I am finally doing it. My first race is this Saturday at Denver International Airport. I have my helmet and need to empty the trunk. And for those who have seen it, you know that is a challenge in itself. Here is the list of other registered competitors in the DS class. (I'm the only domestic)

D-Stock (DS) Drivers: 8

2001 Audi TT 225 Quattro (Gray), Kumho Tires
2001 AUDI S4 (Black)
2004 Saturn Ion Redline (Electric Blue)
2004 Nissan Maxima (Taupe), Kumho Tires
2002 Lexus is 300 (gunmetal), Crappy Tires
2000 Audi S4 (Yellow)
2005 BMW 330xi (Silver)
2004 VW R32 (silver)

Any tips for the newb???????

sweet. Have fun man. Make sure you get ther early enough to walk the course half a dozen times. It will make a big difference in your performance. In the DET region we get 4 runs. The first one isnt counted and is a practice run. If that is the case there dont worry about blasting through th first run. Although in my case my first run was usually my fastest.

You will become addicted I am sure.

Good luck with that trunk......ouch....thats a days work in itself.

watch out for the 330xi.. my mom has one and i've done some... lests call it agressive corning in it.... the thing will not spin out and will not loose traction.. the 4wd set up in it is amazing.. i say pop the cars tires when no ones looking... and you'll be set

The 330 and the R32 are your only worries on that list... I'd say the 330 will be the guy to beat.

Have fun with your trunk of terror there. I wouldn't be surprised if you find a dead body in it at this point.

As for tips, the only thing I recommend is to be sure to kill the Maxima, Lexus, and possible S4. The TT, 330, and R32 (unless they're newber than you) will most likely skin you alive.

Good luck Dave. And yea nobody is exaggerating about his trunk, lol. I bet it is worse now since there is probably still stuff from the move in there.

Can I take the 5th on that one????

Thanks for th tips guys. I am trying to get myself psyched up for this but not too much. The only problem is the weather this weekend. They say it will be around 40 degrees but last week we were in negative temps. So I don't know how many times I will walk the course before I freeze. Should be a fun time. And this doesn't qualify as "racing" according to Progressive.

Any other tips, stories and what not will be appreciated.
