Idler for 2.7?

If I get a Idler pulley for a 2.7" will the same idler fit if I was to put the 2.9" back on? Also, what size Idler would I need for the 2.7" and do they also come in a choice of colors?

To give you an answer...no. If you get the 3" idler pulley, it won't work...well shouldn't at least. The stock s/c pulley is 3.35" so when you drop to a 2.9, you have .45" slack.

Now the idler pulley is 2.5" and moving up to 3" will make it .05" too tight. It MIGHT work, but it will be very tight and could cause wear on it for ya. All depends. When I have the idler pulley pulley on and put the belt back over my 2.8" it can still be a hassle.

From what I calculated and taking into account that the belt wraps around the supercharger pulley more than the idler pulley. Going from stock 3.35" to 2.86" you gain 1.5" in belt length. Now to take up for that you would need to go from 2.5" to 3.5" idler. But there isn't enough room for that, so your best bet is a 3" idler.

1.5"?? How do you come up with that? I have the stock belt and a 2.8", theres no where close to 1.5" of, no matter how you wrap around...

And wouldn't the 'slack' be half that, since the belt wraps around the pulley?
