A cheaper option would be a fuel cooler. I haven't looked for one but it's basically a vertical cylinder with a coiled pipe running through it. You drop your ice in & voila. I don't know if the i.d. of the plumbing being the same as fuel line would cause fitment issues but it would be good for cooling.

DexCool is so cheap that it wouldn't be worth the extra cost of a heat exchanger inside that. It would also be more work for the pump. As it stands, it is just an extra resevour. I think that is the only thing that is going to keep the price down when it does come out. As long as it has a way to drain/refill the system without getting it all over you.
Here's a few points though, from someone who designed his own (unbuilt) one... that ice mixture is not going to last very long if you're driving hard. You might be able to handle refilling after each run at a drag strip, but not where I race. If you let it get too hot, you won't be able to open it. If the two are seperated, you have a bit longer to get a refill in before the stuff is boiling hot. It still will, but you have longer to do so.

I'm not fond of little chunks of ice floating down into my intercooler tubes, which brings me to my next point. Anything you get into that icebox, will end up in your intercooler system. Grass, dirt, ice, etc. You don't have time to wash and wipe your hands each time you need to mess with that sucker at events. Looking at the design on the Laminova cores, it makes me even more wary of getting 'stuff' into them.

The intercooler system does NOT hold alot of coolant. At all. You will need to drain some out every time you need to refill the ice. Which is also going to require adding Dexcool to it almost every time as well. Or at the very least, require that you check and adjust the Dex/H20 mixture after each race. With the placement of the unit, you have to get coolant all over the place when you drain the level down, which is going to have to be done after each set of laps. There are people with their dogs at the events, and draining out puddles of Dexcool gets people a little excited. Even the event rules discourage those types of things. Draining water from the unit make 3-4 issues disappear.

So by sepearting them:

You can use ice or dry ice.
No adjusting of Dexcool/H20 ratios.
No open system for stuff to get into.
No mess when draining.
No accidental poisoning of anyone's dog.

However:
Price would be at least $50 higher in parts
Labor ??

I've seen those before... I was going to use the Moroso unit for my ice box, but the fuel lines are too small.

Im up for buying an ice box as long as it is excatly that. A box with coolant lines going through it that I can dump ice in and keep it seperate from the coolant. It would be nice if it had a drain with a tube in it going down to the ground so as the ice melts it drains out so that when you go to put more ice in its not full of hot water.

Is it possible to have Billetflow just make a box that looks like the ice box but is just a coolant tank. I want to get a coolant tank that looks like that but cant find one.

Also, what font is the Billetflow logo?
