Damn, I don't get it these days. We can make the argument when trading a car in that it shouldn't that expensive and then we contradict ourselves when we try to make the argument that ours should be worth more. Come on I just want 15k for my '05 Redline and I want an '05 STi for 20k, put a grand down and finance the rest, come onnnnnnn. (I know, never going to happen... oh well just have to keep making the cash).

the fact that the Ion is not made anymore really hit us hard. I saw that when I traded mine in 2 weeks ago. I was trying to get rid of mine for 16k when it was loaded and I had well over 10k into my my RL. Book value was 14k when I was trying to sell it and it was a super clean, well done RL. 8 months later when I traded it in there were 2 that just sold which had been there for 3 or 4months; they started at $12,900 and went for $10,900 when they finally sold. I traded mine in on the 2nd, got a call today from my salesman and it sold yesterday for $10,900. It's kinda fucked up how shit can go downhill so fast.

Seriously, right? Do you think trading mine in with my stock parts (extra trunk lid, stock wheels, springs, shift), will help me; or should I just sell those privately? Thanks. Sorry to thread-jack by the way.

I had mine posted in the local Auto Trader and a few other places here for a good 4-6 months before I decided to gut it and trade it in. Finding someone to buy a loaded RL for what you feel it's worth is a difficult task. I ended up getting around $2500 for all my parts after gutting it, but there were a few things I couldn't take out before getting rid of her...upgraded LSD, B&M, springs. It's a tough choice, wait around to find that someone who wants your RL or gut it, do what you think is best homie.

Well I have nothing to gut, my engine is completely stock. I just have aftermarket wheels, springs and a different lid. I'm thinking I should sell my stock wheels rather than include them with the sale of the car along with the trunklid.
