FS: New Brake Rotors & Brake Pads

Just bought these from IMkenNY a week ago, but I just did my brakes yesterday (and painted my calipers) and the brake pads still had 70% life left & the rotors were able to be turned instead of replacing them.

They only have 800 miles on them & look brand new!!
Set of 2 stock FRONT rotors, and we know how great the stock brakes are!!

The rotors had some light surface rust on them so I had them turned (just a light surface clean) for $30 to clean them up & they look like new....over 1" thick.

$100 obo

PM or email me

Damnit, 2 days too late. I would have bought these up because I need to change my pads this weekend. All this week, whenever I applied the brakes harder than usual, the pedal stiffened right up. Then a grinding/bumping feeling is felt through the pedal (not a pulsation). Something isn't right and I don't like driving on them like this. The pads look like they should have some life left...maybe...but the rotors look bad around the outer edges.

I just ordered front & rear Hawk HPS pads that I would have right now, but wasn't home for the Fed Ex delivery. Your sale does not include anything for the rear rotors or pads, right?

BTW, Dezod is a GREAT vendor! I initially ordered their Dezod XXX pads, but they let me know right away they didn't have a batch ready. So they were flexible enough to change my order for the HPS and ship them out right away. Apparently they have a warehouse or retailer here in Michigan, because that's where the Fed Ex tracking said they originated from. I ordered these Tuesday night, switched the order Wednesday during the day, and would have had the pads on my door step today if somebody was home. I paid the extra $10 shipping for 3-day, so maybe that's why they came so quick.

Side note: Anyone in SE Michigan (alredline???) want to help me on my brakes this weekend pleeeeaaase??? I've never done them myself before, and could really use an experienced person and the proper tools. I'm banking on all my rotors able to be turned...(only 24k miles and a few autocrosses on em). Al, did you say Murray's turns those for free??

Murray's charges $10 a rotor to turn them & they do a decent job

My stock rotors had 18,500 miles on them & they were at 25mm.....minimum thickness that they're okay to be turned is 23mm.

Yeah I didn't think they would still be good (they were grooved a little), but sure enough they were so I just saved some money (well if I sell these) & just turned them

The pads still had over 1/2 their life left too

$10 ain't too bad. The rotors are supposed to be 26mm thick when new, so you shaved off 1mm in ~20k miles. Did they turn them all the way down to 23mm? Because from the service manual I have, it says the throw away thickness is 22.8mm...meaning you have about 4k miles left to wear away those 0.2mm.

For the rear, rotors start at 14mm, and can be shaved down to 12mm. Throwaway is 11.8mm.

As for the grooving, everyone's brakes are known to do that, which I'm sure you're aware of. The grooving isn't a big deal, since you can barely feel them. You would have to worry about if they start getting scored. The max scoring in the specs are 1.5mm thick (in other words, a 1.5mm groove). A groove that thick you would definitely be able to stick your fingernail in.

Alright I'll stop thread jacking, GL selling.

Oh I had no idea how thick they were new (26mm)......I thought they were on their last life when the guy told me 25mm....lol

But as for the minimum thickness to turn....that's just what it said on the back of the rotor...23mm IIRC

They weren't grooved horribly, but I just wanted to do it since I was painting my calipers already, it was still nice out, & before winter comes along....you know??

But yeah...if you had all 4 rotors turned...it's $40 at Murray's & it takes them like an hour or so.
