Question Darknights 2005

Woohoo! Senior Member Status (100 posts)!

Anyone else going to this year's Darknights event? It's happening this weekend (July 23rd-24th). I've heard that GM will be displaying some cool vehicles (including a Red Line Ion). I plan to be there all day Saturday.

Background:

While not in Toronto City proper, it is located in the Greater Toronto Area. I think that the Markham Fairground is about 30 min. north of the city. It should be a pretty good event with lots of tuner vehicles and people.

Team Hayasa and I will be heading up. We are showing 2 cars (a ion and a Zx2). Most of the team will at least be at the show. Look for a black Ion with a bodykit, lowered, 17' chrome wheels, a pink Hayasa banner on it. We should be there all weekend... As long as we are not at the bar.

When are you guys heading out? I may or may not have to go to Florida this weekend. If not I might be interested in attending for the day on Saturday. It's what? A 2 hour 2 1/3 hour drive? Wouldn't mind tagging along if that is cool. When are you leaveing and are you guys staying the night? What is the plan my man?

I used to take this trip every weekend, and still do ocassionally for work. Depending on traffic, approximate time between Warren and Downtown T.O. is about 4-5 hours. If you're "not overly concerned with fuel economy" , it could probably be done in about 3.5 hours, but I don't recommend it. In my experience, the best route is (696E ->) I94E -> HWY402E -> HWY401E -> HWY404N.

Best Regards!

Yeah; it's about 10 hours from Indiannapolis, but perhaps one of your neighbours in Michigan can car pool with you.

Yeah I think I will skip this then. I thought the drive was shorter that 4 hours. I have much to do on friday and a BBQ to prep for on Sunday. I don't want to spend 8 hours on the road by my self. I just don't want to get a hotel. I'm sick of hotels.

Thanks for all teh input though. I appreciate it.
