Rattling Muffler ? ! ? !

For Willy and anyone else who might have some useful insight:

The Magnaflow muffler that came with the kit has developed a rattle...at first, I had thought it was the Moroso spiral flow resonator again (broke a weld on the first this past summer) but today proved otherwise. The Moroso is fine (per the "tap and pound" test), but the Magnaflow however, has a definite rattle in it when you semi-pound on it. When the exhaust is flowing and you give it gas, it REALLY makes itself known - in short, it sounds terrible.

Is this common??? Is there some kind of warranty through Magnaflow or CTI, or am I on my own with this one???

Found this...question is, WHICH one do I have?
http://www.magnaflow.com/wideopen/warranty.asp

Looks like I gotta go through CTI for this, regardless...

Is it this one? http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=577

Is it an internal rattle or like the exhaust rubbing against the car rattle. I have a feeling your gonna say internal. Alpha and I have a bad rattle with our magnaflow setup, but its just rubbing in some places.

lsj the setup you bought from cti is rattling?? if its rubbing man that sucks id be calling willy i cant stand that at all...or is it the mag brand cat back??

yes cti would have to handle it.. now if you called mag and said you had it done while in that state and you have moved they would most likely take care of you through them.. depends on who you talk to.. ive seen this at different times..and yes a few have been mag mufflers usually this happens with the cheaper ones though.. call willy im sure he'll take care of you one of the reasons the damn mag mufflers cost as much as they do is their warranty for life they have to cover their ass if it needs to be swapped. only thing that sucks is you have no muffler for a while. im about to sell the cti i think. going to make a quieter full system or modify his no sure yet but the mag muffler will be going away...

Definitely internal...when I shifted/pound on the muffler, I can hear something internal rattle around...

I PM'd Willy and will probably call him tomorrow - the quicker I can take care of this the better.

I doubt it...suppose anything's possible, but this sound is something that's gotten progressively worse over the last couple weeks, so my thinking is something's failing in there somewhere.

Just for shits and giggles though, I took a peak and nothing LOOKS like it's out of place...
