Exedy Stage 3 Clutch is now here!

That's right the one GM has used on their race car is now available in LIMITED quantities. We have updated our website to reflect the price of the unit.

http://dezod.com/pd_exedy_hyper_single_clutch_stage.cfm

This is a Stage 3 Hyper Single Disc Clutch with Flywheel but does not come with a release bearing. (re-use OEM one). It will hold up to 450ft/lbs of TQ. It is a sprung 6 Spline disc that is race ready!

What the price for just the clutch, if its sold like that. Also, what other clutches does Exedy have out, or plan to have it, for our car.

I know quite a bit. What do you need to know?

6 Spline Sprung Disc
Lightened Exedy Flywheel
Does not include release bearing
TQ Capacity of 450ft/lbs

This clutch is only sold this way from Exedy. It is the clutch/flywheel combo together that is race ready and will hold 450 ft/lbs of TQ!

I do not deal Clutchmasters, so I am unfamiliar with the set-up. Any specs so that I can help?

It is the clutch that not only used in the street tuner challenge (which was also the Time Attack Champ Cobalt last year) but is also used in all the Grand-Am cup cars.

My concern with this clutch is also the same as the CM clutches. When they built the Time Attack Cobalt, they used to master cylinder from a 98-04 Vette to allow sufficient pressure for the clutch to disengage properly. Not sure if we would need to do that as well. I spoke with the place in the US that handles stuff for EXEDY (Cox Motorsports) and he said he wasn't sure if it was needed. He seemed pretty confident that this was everything we would need though.

I am assuming he is right since they held off so long on releasing it that it should be perfectly fine. The way they rated the torque makes me wonder if they were going to by driving like Sp00n would do or those that will go to the track with slicks, rev to 3000rpm and just dump the clutch
