06 WRX times.

I know this isn't a wrx forum, but i figured you guys would be interested in what the new (06) wrx's are capable of. While the car is only rated at a few more hp and a little more torque the power curve is much better and it has the 2.5 instead of the 2.0. Here is a link to a recent run of a bone stock WRX (TR) the TR just stands for tuner ready and its basically just a cheaper model, no performance upgrades over a regular WRX.

http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=136303

This is what the car ran.

2006 Steel Gray WRX TR
13.74 @ 98.25mph w/ 1.9 60ft (bone stock)

Gotta love AWD off the line...but too bad it hurts trap speed.

That's pretty good for a stock vehicle. What's the price on the new ones? Did they improve the new sti too?

They did not improve the new STI, as for the price the WRX TR

MSRP
$ 24,620.00

Invoice
$ 23,187.00

And you can get it for invoice no problem.

It would be cool if it were only awd in 1st and 2nd gear, then when you switched to 3rd it would change to rwd, that would be cool!

Yeah from a roll the 06 wrx is pretty much dead even with a stock Readline, but from a dig the wrx has the advantage, now as for the pre 06s, from a roll the redline is faster and from a dig the wrx is only slightly faster.

I've got one!!! And that invoice price seems a little high. I paid $22,700 for mine and when I checked that was a little over invoice, not by much though. But I love my WRX TR, now I need to get off the line as fast as others and i'll be good to go. Hey Lance... wanna meet up and see how we'd fair up from a roll?? or from a stop?? Let me know.
