Differences in 1/4 & 1/8 Techniques?

I've only got about 10 runs under my belt on 1/4 mile, but tonite I'm hitting up the 1/8 mile track...just wondering if there's anything I might need/want to know about attacking the 1/8th vs. the 1/4?

off the line means everything, make sure you don't hop and spin the wheels

It's about one half the distance.

Sorry, I'm an ass.

What I should have said was that I would not drive the same amount of distance. I'd stop a bit sooner in the 1/8.

Most people run the 1/8 in reverse.

^ I agree.

Unfortunatly that's all we have localy. It's just over too quickly and most people wouldn't get a speeding ticket on normal roads what they trap at.

My best after 5 runs was a 8.3 @ 85mph. I think even with AWD, tires play an important role as I was chirping/wheel hopping off the line.

Yup - I doubt I will ever run an 1/8th again...just not as much fun - puts more focus on driver ability than the car and I'm still working on my abilities.

Oh well...learning experience.
