STi from a roll????

Alrite this race DID not happen but i'm wondering what the out come might have been.

i turned down this race to the fact that raceing on public streets scares the shit outta me....cops and i dont get along.

So heres the cars...

HP tuners tune(best power adder ever)
42lb injecters

now he said he wanted to do a ROLL race...from 40 or 45mph
whit HIM in 3rd hear and ME in 2nd.

I personaly think i would have kicked his ass but ive never ran up agenst an STi...i think from a roll with my car set up how it is i would have won..

what do you all think?

Personally..either he was snowballing you with what mods he actually had..or he was on crack. I've NEVER had an STi or Evo owner actually want to go from a roll unless I know them..

he wasent bull shiting me about hsi mods because i was looking under the hood of the car...thats what he had and i saw it to verify it.

Yeah, but you never see a Cobb tune, that's very hidden...

Hell, if that's the case, go grab a tankfull of 100 octane and throw about 5-6 degrees of timing across the powerband. Go from a roll. He'll never see it coming. Of course, he might still beat you, but he'll still be blown away. I really don't know what those mods will give him, but if your 'balt is anything like my Ion with my tune, it will be interesting.

What do you have tuned so far? Just starting from the stock base, you didn't have the GM tune first did you?

i had the stage tune at first...now its just very, very, very differant I'm at the max tune for the 42.5lb injecters.

he dident say anything about a ECU tune and he dident strike me as the kinda guy that would forget to say that due to his lack of smarts.

i just dont think he had any idea what my car is capable of.

Ok, throw a tank of 100 octane in, throw a few degrees of timing into the power band, from about .80g/cyl to like 1.12g/cyl 3500-redline rpms, and go run his ass, report back!

Scan the car for knock before anything!

I have no idea what the car is capable of with an open ECU like this, I keep thinking there's nothing more to tune, and the something else pops up, and then I realize a mod that I could now use that I couldn't before, etc, etc, etc...

more and more just keeps opeing up one the car with a biger and better tune!

i dont want to change the tune and buy race gas...with my maxed out tune rite now and 94 octane i want to know if YOU think i'd take his ass with only the mods i listed.

Well, it's hard to say. You should have very similar HP, but there's still an issue of gearing, and I don't know what they actually put out, as opposed to claimed. They're fast, no question there. If it's me, I don't play around. I use my HP Tuners to set myself up to have the best chance of winning. Then, I pull over, drop the tune, and motor off...
