Sp00ner: 3rd Place at Autobahn Country Club circuit!

Oh man, did I let the Redline go nuts on the course!!!!

3rd place, and was beaten by a BMW 3-Something, the pic is below, and a Mustang GT. Not sure which one, there was alot of 'em! When the instructor driving the BMW realized he was holding off a second timer, running a Saturn Ion, and running stock tires, he says to me, "Wow, those things are little beasts! I can't believe I was holding off a noob driving a Saturn on stock tires."

I'm quite stoked...

For you people that think the clutch and axles fall out... learn how to drive..

Finally saw a car get serious damage out there too.

Full race prepped Integra Type-R, just SMASHED a metal guard rail at like 85-90. It was harsh. Whole front end was pushed in, front suspension was basially disconnected from the car, engine was sitting crooked.

$10,000 in suspension and engine work, plus the car itself. Ouch!

Thumbs up Congratulations!

Thart's amazing, Spooner! How harsh did you find the experience on your tires? Do you have any tips to share in regards to performance driving (taking the right line, braking techniques, etc.) for any aspiring "spooner's" out there ? Your club shows a pretty technical course; was your race on the North , South, or Full Tack configuration?

It sounds like you've really mastered driving the Red Line and "mad props" to you for making the rest of us look good at the same time! No doubt people at the track take you pretty seriously when they hear your "Red Lion" roar! Any pictures to share of your victory lap?

South Course... don't ask about the tires... good god. You can watch the layers come stripping off after each lap! Here's some pics. I couldn't get any of me driving, since all of us were racing at the same time.

The two I was hanging with...

Sti Practicing...

Random Camaro...

The instructor I was chasing. I thought it was an old M3, but it was a newer 3-series.

Domintating Corvette. Saw him last time too... Set a course record for the class

Before you laugh totally, check out the FMIC!

Your clutch has every right to be falling out at this poing my man, I've seen people eat clutches from just a few launches in high powered cars. Good, aftermarket ones, you know what I'm saying!

I do think the pulley helps, since I'm in that upper-middle part of the rpms alot. So I think the boost coming earlier was a nice touch. I didn't claim the pulley on the tech-in, cause the rules were very confusing. They only mention turbos, changing superchargers, changing boost electroncially, and so on, and it's a 4 point hit. An exhaust header is a one point hit. That's what it should be on this car, to me. So that would give me two points, one for the CAI, and one for the pulley, still keeping me in stock class. If I had enough ponts to put me in the prepped class, I'd claim the pulley and see what they give me for points. I'm not taking four points for a mod that give me a little more boost, a little sooner. The guy in the RSX got 3 points for a coilover setup, swaybars, and camber plates.

We talked the guy that owned it.

It's a motor from a Mazda something or other, from Japan, it was sitting there with the hood open a little while after I took the pic. He had bought the motor to use for some project car. It's like a 1.8L Turbo. It has a ford emblem on the motor, but the other writing on it is in Japanese. He wrecked the project car before putting the new motor in it, and then decided... "What the hell..."

Nice job spoon, good driving. No doubt people were surprised at what you showed them a little Saturn could do. I'll bet they were snickering at first, then bam!! In your face. It sounds like the parts and points thing can get a bit complicated, do they check the cars post race?
