I like domestics simply for the reason that they are American. I do realize that honda and toyota do employ a fair ammount of people here in the states and that GM has plants in Canada etc... I still like to keep it american whenever I can. Not alot of "Fun" Japanese cars to pick from really either. Toyota has nothing cool. Honda has the rsx and s2000 neither of which tickle my fancy but they are at least there. Mitsubishi produces crap and the Eclipse is extremely expensive. Nissan has the 350z which almost seems overpriced for the performance it offers.
On the american side we have

cobalt ss
redline
solstice
sky
corvette
srt4
charger
mustang
etc....

Alot of the imports that are faster, seem to be luxury cars... or sedan... they might be fast, but not what I want. Like the difference between a charger and a mustang. At least the charger is 'meant' to be sports. Nothing about an Acura TL seems sporty to me though, 270hp or not. I'd much rather drive a Grand Prix Comp G for less money.

agreed with everyone in terms of the lack of performance. import sport cars tend to be drastically high priced, or not real performance cars. Even the upcoming skyline I have a feeling is going to be having a rather ridiculous pricetag associated with it.

You have the STIs and the EVOs though (EVO, meh sweet car, crappy quality, in my own personal opinion). leaving pretty much only the STI. STI is sweet, but not my thing.

I agree, just a tad bit over. How bout this though, you want something on the "performance" side but with low gas mileage, get a Nissan, 350Z or Sentra Spec V...want something with okay gas mileage when it is almost 300hp at the crank AFTER having stuff done to the engine, get the Cobalt SS or Redline and get 25mpg.

Something over-rated? Get a RX8...we all remember what happened when those were released.

Something under-rated? Get the SS or RL

There are billboards around here saying how many "US jobs" Toyota creates and that the number is the same as miles to the moon. I always laugh as I imagine GM's billboard displaying the number of miles to Pluto, and back.
