Redline product testing??

Hey here is an off the wall question. Does anyone know what kind of product testing went into the production of the ion redline or the engine/transmission.
I was just wondering because today I was being a little generous with the throttle during an onramp blastoff, and I bounced it off the limiter once. It made me think that GM must have put the engine through hell and that one bounce off a limiter couldnt be too detremental. Anyways just kind of a wacky question

You can sit there and bounce all you want all day everyday against that limiter, have fun with it

Protecting the engine is the whole purpose of the rev limiter.

plus with stage 1 you get 7k so bouncing at 6500 is not the end of the world, just besure to change your oil regularly

ohh I know that it would be hard to do much damage to the car by bouncing it off the limiter a few times, but I was just interested in how much crap these things could take. Im sure Gm put a few of these through hell and I would be interested to know if anyone knows anything about how they product test engines and transmissions?

Probably run it till it blows something up. Give it more power and do it again. Just my guess.
