Arrow what to change trans fluid to synthetic

what is a good synthetic trans fluid to run in my Redline. I find the trans to be noisy and I want to put a synthetic fluid in to help with that. The dealership told me it was a petrolem based fluid in there now and that it's fine to change it as long as it said "meets or excedes manufacter standards" but they couldn't tell me want the weight of the fluid needs to be. Does anyone know if the Royal purple is any good.

thanks Kane

The first thing you need to do is find out what specific fluids meet that standard. And you need to get that list from GM.

As we've found out, using Royal Purple oil in the engine will void your warranty. I would assume the same could be said for the tranny.

b/c GM hasn't certified their product to meet its standards. They're not saying it's a bad oil... just that they haven't proven it's a good oil.

If your tranny fails, you better believe GM is going to look at fluid as a potential point of failure... and if it's something they don't "approve" as a condition of your warranty, then you get the big red "Denied" stamp on your paperwork.

Am I the only one who actually read the stipulations of the warranty?
