Exclamation Waarranty Problems? This COULD HELP ARGUE THE DEALERSHIP!!!

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/...#Magnuson-Moss

Check it out, might be useful...don't know if it is sticky worthy, but we almost all have jerk-off dealerships.

EDIT: Make sure this is your last course of action. Make sure you are very sincere to the tech guys because hell...your car is in their hands and you're trusting them in the first place to take the car to them, so no reason to be upset just because something is wrong. You might have to tell them what problems ended up causing whats wrong with other people's because I know my dealership tries a lot, but no one there owns a RL and they don't see them often. We read every day about the issues and stuff. Like the intercooler pump, not many know about the wiring not being correct on the earlier RLs.

I have sit quietly by and read your worthless posts time and time again. This is going to far. Who the fuck do you think you are? Really? Do you even know what that is from or why it is there? There are several service writers on this board, myself included. Be glad you are not my customer. You are a fucking moron.

Doesn't really mean shit. For one you don't have the money to fight GM in court over the issue and I'm pretty sure they are allowed to refuse to service the vehicle until it is returned to stock.

Also, once you put start modding the hell out of the car you probably should expect that the dealership is going to be reluctant to work on it. They are not there to sponsor your racing career.

Have the thread closed then, but you can't tell me EVERY dealership is fair. I forgot you're service writer for every dealership in the US...oh snap!

There have been people on here that have stock cars or light things done where the dealerships argue with them. I never said I was talking about myself, did I?

Geez...sorry for trying to offer beneficial info for OTHER FUCKING PEOPLE!!!

I know my warranty is gone. I'm taking my car in to have it checked to see if the IC is cracked on the inside where the coolant is leaking into the engine, but I don't completely think it should be covered under warranty. I don't know what I have done that would cause it to crack but if they say my warranty is void then so be it. I have never taken off the s/c so I know I never did it, don't know if the boost could but I never really run my car hard because my clutch isn't that great and I don't want to buy a flywheel so I am trying to keep that in decent condition.

Just to clarify for maxboost and rlinbatonrouge....THIS ISN'T FOR MYSELF, ONLY THOSE WHO HARDLY HAVE ANYTHING DONE AND HAVING PROBLEMS.

Both of you guys know there are people here with awesome dealerships and some with not so great. Some where they blame something stupid on having an intake on your car and they won't fix it.

90% of the time dealerships don't go out of their way for a customer because that person is a moron and doesn't know how to act to other people. Kinda like you starting a thread for the MM act because Pclear had oil on his MAF. Which the dealer fixed for him at no charge. GM has a TSB warning aganist MAF replacement on vehicles with CAI's for that exact reason, yet the dealership fixed it for him for free. So who are you giving beneficial info to? I've dealt with customers like you for years. You are young and think you know everything. Instead you come off looking like a fool to everyone else. If I were you, I'd just shut up and not talk about shit that you don't know about. INTENSE-this and INTENSE-that. Man, just shut up. Do you know anything about cars at all? You are the first person to answer any thread with get Intense and go fast. Moron.

Is there something I missed... perhaps I need to re-read his post. It's just an explanation of the MM warranty act, is it not?

It came about from Pclear's thread about having some warranty work done.

It's the way he comes across. Saying dealerships are assholes and that we should all stand up for our rights. Totally worthless thread. If he had a valid point it would be one thing, but this is useless. It's the implications that piss me off. We have been over this before in other threads on the same thing. I've covered tons of shit for people under warranty that I should not have just because they were nice people. On the other hand, I have denied repairs that I could have covered under warranty when the people are assholes. (Had a cust bottom out and bend the compressor pulley. Could have warrantied it even though it was not a mfg defect. Guy was a dick, so no warranty because he hit something) Crap like this makes customers walk on the drive and demand everything because they know the rules. Total crap. Screw the MM act. Walk in, be polite, ask questions, respect them, and ask for help. You'll get ten times farther than telling them you know what is wrong and you know your rights and you know how to fix it.

Ummm... ok.... I still don't get it... Personally, I would have loved to print this up when I took my car in and they told me that my aftermarket pulley was causing the air to be hot, not the broken intercooler.

Yeah, we've been through this before, and it always ends the same way. Service guys say the only people they don't help are the customers that are dicks, and the customers always say the service guys were rude. I had to go to a different dealer, 20 miles away, to get my car fixed. So you're "Just be nice and everything will be fine", angle is not always appropriate.

I hung out with these guys shooting the shit for 2 hours while the looked over my car, the head tech was telling be about springs, pulley kits, intakes, etc. Then the same head tech said they couldn't work on my car because the aftermarket pulley was the whole problem when I dropped it off after the weeked.

Tibbet can tell you HORROR stories about his dealer, he had to drive 200 miles to get someone to fix his car under warranty.

YOU are not in EVERY dealership across the country. You don't know how people are treated and how they're treating people. However, you're the first person to INSTANTLY assume that ANYONE who has any issues with service, was obviously a complete dick to them. You are the first person to take the side of a service tech that you've never heard, seen, met or talked to. I replaced my own brakes because racing messed them up, same with my clutch when it goes. Same with anything else I break. So I expect the exact same level of responsiblity when I take a faulty part into the dealer, which ALOT of people have not gotten.
