*HELP* Gum along side of car!

Ok, When I got home I looked at the side of my car and as you can there is enough gum on it for everyone. Alpha told me Goo Gone, but he also said that it will eat away my clear coat. Any thoughts on how I can get this gook off. My car is just sitting there in the sun which I am sure is not helping.

Try washing here. Some water and soap first. Then move on to more drastic measures.

try the old gum in the hair trick...ice it until it freezes and try peeling it off.

I tried using Spray Detailer and a microfiber cloth with no luck. It simply spread the mess. I could try my bug sponge, but I don't want to use anything to abrasive.

I was just reading up on that, but I dont think it will work simply because it cannot freeze if the paint behind it is warm. I cant find any shade around hear either. Im gonna go use soap and warm water and see how that goes.

It'll be easier to remove once the gum has dried and becomes brittle. Anything that would successfully remove it at this point is in the realm of solvents, and I'm not a fan of putting those on my paint.

However... Bug & Tar Remove swears it's safe for paint.

Moral of the story: You should have enough wax on your car, so stuff like that will slide off.

I used a Mr. Clean Pad, Soap, water, goo gone, and a microfiber and finally got most of it off. I didnt see a few spots, but its too damn hot out there right now. The only problem that I have now is the "scuff looking marks where I just cleaned. I couldn't get rid of those even with the detailer and soap/water.

DAMN! I just read the bottle of goo gone and realized that it doesn't say that it is safe of cars or anything of that nature. I hope those scuff marks that I see are not permanent.
