I guess I'm taking a chance on commenting about this, but hey, nuthin' new 4 me. Certain factions should get over themselves and their hurt feelings.
If you sit back and read start to finish a few threads on this board, you will see a railroading project in full force. Below is a synopsis as I read it in progress.
A poll set up, opinions given, opinions ignored, reasons given why "we" should host, reasons by the intended attendee's as to why they won't attend, said reasons ignored in favor attempted ramrodding of reasons as to why no place else would be better for this event, reasons rejected again, opposition of core intended attendee's to water down "their" national meet with non similar cars, feelings hurt of people that the core owners wouldn't expect to attend "their" meet anyway. More than a few LSJ owners repeat no desire to have other cars included in "their" national meet causing a flare up from 2 individuals, one of which doesn't even own an LSJ car. LSJ owner riled up because "his club" seems to be getting rejected as host/location by enough members to make a difference in the make-up of the event.
**personal attacks- personal attacks**
Personal observation ** It is quite possible that a moderator can post to a locked thread WITHOUT doing anything specal (perk of being god-like) and not realize that the thread is locked. How many out there have read down to a point, and posted a reply, only to find out that there is like a half dozen posts between the one you just read and the one you just posted?? Give a person a break before jumping down his neck and taking a dump. Personally, I've only experienced the most courteous responses from Mr Sp00ner

and I have only seen him use a level head in moderating here. (keeping in mind we are a "different kind of forum" just like Saturn is a different kind of car company.)
Last random thought, this is a Red Line forum, populated mostly by ION owners and a token Vue owner or two. We seem to have a lot of "other type of car owner" registered on here, to which I must conclude our forum is the shit. Be here or be queer should be our motto.

Why get bent out of shape when the members of the
REDLINEforums speak up and reject something that is viewed as coming from an outsider. Why get bent out of shape when the members of the
REDLINEforums speak out that they only want to see LSJ cars at "their national meet". Hey, I think is was a pretty righteous move on our part to let the freaks from the "other" LSJ forums hook up and party down with the Original LSJ movement... US. After looking at the threads, I saw that the majority had spoken and the minority was pissed... Welcome to America!
I hope that something gets pulled off, but baby steps first. I think that regional meets are more realistic as it stands from what I read around here. Having a designated area for LSJ cars at the SPS meet still sounds like a good idea for those with freed up schedules and enough $$ to put gas in the tank for a road trip.

ANd for the southern members and us northern guys who like to flee cold weather, the
Turkey (Rod) Run is held Thanksgiving week in Daytona. They are up to 5000+ cars registered, Mfg Midway, swap meet Tons of food vendors, shit to do and it is in FL when it is cold elsewhere!!! Close to Disney and Universal Studios, day trip to St Augustine or Tampa area(Spring Hill - home of Goofy Guy & the Smith's) and if you register ahead of time a section can be set aside for a group or Car Club. Dozens of Red Lines on the Infield of the Daytona Speedway, gives me goosebumps.
Oh, and as far as " go ahead and plan your event, but WE won't be attending"... Oh well...
